Water Polo

Water Polo has a long and proud history at Brighton, and over the years we've produced many international players - and hosted many international teams. But we value inclusiveness and participation over competitiveness.

I'm interested in Polo!

Mini-Polo

Our youngest members focus on water confidence and core skills - treading water, passing, shooting and playing mini games in fun packed sessions.

As they play, they’re gaining strength and endurance, working as a team and about quick decision making. There’s no water polo experience needed, just the ability to swim in shallow water and eagerness to play ball. Contact us for more details.

Session times – Fridays, 7.00pm – at Prince Regent.
Minimum age – 6 years

Junior Development Squad

Our Junior Squad covers U10, U12, U14 and U18s - both girls and boys.

The Junior Development Squad is the place to learn more complex skills including jumps, assertive play, tactics and strategy. For experienced swimmers this is a good entry point to expand their existing skills and have fun with a new discipline.

Session times: Friday, 7.30pm and Sundays 6.00pm – at Prince Regent

Women's Polo

Brighton’s Women’s Water Polo Team can be traced back to 1902, when a small team of ladies reportedly played the first women’s match against Swansea SC.

This pioneering spirit of women’s continues in the club today as the women’s polo steadily grows in popularity

Coached by an active National league player, today’s junior and senior ladies’ teams play in leagues, south east regional teams and are part of the National Talent Centre.

Some of our previous members represent Team GB and play in the World Championships. But even more important than competitive success is that our players enjoy their sport and have fun.

If you fancy trying water polo, no prior experience is necessary… just get in touch!

Session times:  Friday, 8.30pm and Sundays 7.00pm – at Prince Regent

Seniors and Masters

Seniors train up to 3 times a week, working on fitness and skills which are put into practice with competitive and friendly games with teams in the Sussex, Surrey and Kent leagues.

The popular Friday night session usually ends with ‘post match analysis’ and a pint. The social side of senior water polo makes Brighton the most popular away game for many visiting clubs in the county and Region!

Sessions are shared with our older players, the masters… there’s no age limit to take part, and no experience needed… bring your trunks, enthusiasm and have some fun.

Session times: Entry levels are Friday, 8.30pm and Sundays 7.00pm – at Prince Regent
